Phuque’s Top 3 Jiggy Era Videos: #3

There is one era in Hip-hop videos (1998-2000ish) that was on one hand visually appealing, and on the other hand kind of embarrassing to the culture. When it comes down to it, these videos served their purpose: they were fun. Hop in the Delorian and take a ride with me….

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and ferrets….Phuque’s #3 pick for Best Jiggy Era video:

Gettin’ Jiggy Wit it – Will Smith

I guess it’s only right that I start it off with the song that gave this era it’s name. Will Smith is the perfect example of a “fun” artist – one who made his own lane in the Jiggy world. I think one requirement for these type of videos is the “mirrored hallway”, in which the artist gets “mad jiggy” with it, doing awkward dance moves in the process. Another constant in jiggy videos would be the “matching dancers”, in this case – some jiggy-ass sweatsuits and goggles. Dope.

But wait – just when you thought Will couldn’t get any jiggier, he takes it to “Africa” on that ass (nh). Complete with the Michael Jackson “Remember the Time” wardrobe and errything. Gangsta. And let’s not forget Hawaii – where jiggyness lives. That suit is indescribably homo, yet somehow Will and his jiggyness seem to pull it off. This ninja could jump out of some flower bushes and choke you out Green Beret style and you would never see it coming. Tulip/Rose/Violet camoflauge = jiggy.

All in all, I think that Will Smith accomplished his long life artistic goal in spreading love, peace, jiggyness across the world. Enjoy.
